We were commissioned to design and build this children's play area in a large private garden in Surrey, a project which turned out to be a 'labour of love' for us. The play area was designed in-house by Jac Wac and Neil Dunster and constructed by The Garden Builders. The garden was named 'Category Winner' in the Special Feature category at the prestigious 2011 APL Awards.
The play area is everything a child can wish for in a romping space. It is filled with all kinds of play features and stimulating activities - a slide, playhouse, trampoline, swings, sand pit, tunnel, climbing frames, monkey bars and a tornado spinner. With soft surfaces and a coloured, textured floor, the play area offered an exciting sensory experience for children.
The play area is complemented by lush, architectural planting to provide structure and an attractive greenery environment full of year-round colour and texture. Planting included large tree ferns, herbaceous perennials and grasses.
