Project 24 | Garden Builders | Stanmore
This 1.5 acre garden took over 9 months to landscape. Over 700 tonnes were removed from site to create contrasting levels. From the house there was a large Yorkstone terrace with Haddon stone ballastrading separating the crocket lawn from the formal lawn – both using bowling green turf. Stepping down from the formal lawn, there was an informal pond and water cascade designed by Anthony Henn. A clever feature of this substantial garden was a sunken tennis court which whilst providing the sporting space, did not interrupt views across the landscape. Mature specimens were used throughout this impressive garden, with individual trees being craned in. An extensive irrigation system was supplied throughout the garden along with lighting.
