This medium sized garden was designed by The Garden Builders to complement a modern extension to the existing house. We constructed a large, buff coloured sandstone terrace with a stylish single wide step to the lawn. The main focal point was provided by a raised, still pool which was designed to mirror the sculptural piece by Helen Sinclair. To the front of the pool, we designed and installed a custom built floating iroko bench. The relaxed feel was reinforced by the informal shaped lawn edged with sandstone paving on one side, a discreet metal edge on the other. We centred the rear deck area around an existing mature oak tree to provide a cool place to relax in this south facing garden. For evening entertainment, we fitted a comprehensive lighting system including pond lights, lighting in the paving, Hunza step lights, border lighting and moonlighting effect for down-lighting the oak tree.
