Designed by Pringle Brandon Architects for their client JTI Gallagher.
This large
courtyard commercial outdoor 'relaxation, seating and dining' area involved
creating bespoke curved seating areas formed from a combination of metal and
timber and creating shapely areas of decking that weave in and around the
space, inlaid in between with beds of white pebbles. The aim was to avoid a
regular, square design layout and also to create a visually interesting space
when viewed from the offices above. Feature disc shaped light fittings added
visual interest and provided the inspiration for many of the shapes and
finishes in the scheme. Additional tables and chairs were sourced from the
beautiful Gloster range of exterior furniture.
Mature plants were provided in order to create instant
height, colour and interest to the scheme. A second zone of the same project
was to create planting zones within the internal glazed atrium area. 6-9m high
bamboo and trees were installed within bespoke stainless steel planters.
