Project 3 | Caroline Singer | Barnes

This large Victorian villa already had an English Yorkstone terrace to the rear of the house. The garden design by Caroline Singer used this existing feature, and centred around a sizeable rectangular lawn which emphasized the length of the garden. The lawn was bordered by matching Yorkstone paths that both framed the lawn and provided stylish paved access to the new rear terrace. The second terrace, at some distance from the house, provided the opportunity for a more contemporary entertaining space which consisted of raised planting beds with smooth rendered walls, and a custom built floating Iroko bench. This was specifically designed in proportion for the comfort of our taller than average client. In recognition that this was a family garden, the large flowering cherry tree was incorporated in the design and build of a hammock which all the family love, and a custom built swing was constructed that could be used by child and adult alike. The final touch was a lighting scheme, designed and installed by us, which creates a magical atmosphere for evening entertaining.
