The specification for this garden was simply and outdoor room. The design for this small south London courtyard garden evolved from the clientís love of the hand made Italian tiles which replenish the floor. Edged with a small boarder of succulents and closed off with a dark grey tiled surround the base of this exquisite garden speaks for itself. Structurally the design is very simple with raised painted rendered walls, a hardwood built in seat bench to create the elevations and painted bespoke cedar trellis work that frames the space itís the finishing touches and attention to detail that brings this lovely little garden to life. Of course the planting is one of the keys to this space and the Mexican blue palm and multi stem silver birches gives this garden its structure and natural feel. The left hand side boarder is full of a mix of black, purple, silver and white perennials and topped off with the ever elegant evergreen star Jasmine. The lights that crisscross the roof of the garden bring a different feel to garden lighting opening up the whole garden to a summers evening.
